V8 Supercars, Darwin

Novatech’s ever expanding arsenal of Martin MAC luminaires and L’Acoustics concert system was once again put to use for the ‘Race & Rock’ Concert series for the V8 Supercars Championships at Hidden Valley, Darwin.

Legendary Australian rock band INXS, featuring JD Fortune was the headline act for the biggest weekend on the Darwin event calender. Other acts included Short Stack and Bliss N Eso, as well as support from a mix of local and national acts over the three day event.

Novatech supplied the production and crew for the main stage with a lighitng rig that included 39x Mac2000, 4x Atomics, 7x RJ 2k Fresnels, 5x Jarag Par30, Unique Hazers, 4x FOH Spots, 9x 4lite DWE, 24x Par64 ACL, 8x Par64 MFL, 8x Source 4, and some festoon to top it all off.

Long time INXS LD Sean ‘Motley’ Hackett ran the show from a GrandMA Full size, with a MA2 Light running as a backup. Motley also trigged the Catalyst Media Server, running content to 12x Martin LC panels hung in strips from the rear truss.

Novatech were happy to be a part of Motley’s last INXS show before he heads off on tour with super group KISS. “All good very impressed with the gear and the attitude world class” said Motely of Novatech.
