Ashes Test Dinner

On the eve of the second test of the 2011 Ashes series event management company Keito Events teamed up with Novatech to stage a black tie dinner on the grounds of the Adelaide Oval.

Many boyhood dreams were realised that evening as modern day heros and those of bygone years came together to discuss the upcoming test and witness the official opening of the new Adelaide Oval Western Members Stand. Former Prime Minister the Hon John Howard, Hon Kate Ellis MP, Hon Paul Holloway MP and SACA president the Hon Ian McLachlan were special guests for the unveiling.

The event has grown so much over the years that a larger marquee was brought in to accommodate guests. Due to weight restrictions in the marquee, Novatech utilized our Vectorwork 3D CAD program to design a ground support solution that incorporated a theatrical lighting design, multi image large format screens and a comprehensive, yet discreet L’Acoustics public address system, along with a custom made plaque reveal. Novatech were thrilled to provide a solution for Keito Events and the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) at such a significant and prestigious event.

Kate Abraham from Keito Events said “You can imagine how delighted I was to hear the client say the Audio Visual production Novatech provided for the dinner was the best they have ever had”.

The lead up to Australia day is a very busy time at Novatech. This year we worked with the Australia Day Council of South Australia supplying audio, visual and lighting production for a number of official Australia Day Celebrations, including the Australia Day Luncheon at Town Hall. Prime Minister Julia Gillard spoke to a captivated audience about mateship, a fair go and the Aussie spirit in the wake of the Queensland floods.

Following the Australia Day parade through the city, Novatech was enlisted to provide production for the ‘Australia Day in the City’ concert in Elder Park. We joined a reported 30,000 fellow Adelaidians to celebrate what’s great about living in such diverse and multicultural country with special guests Jessica Mauboy and Kisschasy and a massive fireworks display.

The iconic Fringe festival set Adelaide abuzz for three weeks of arts fever as we welcomed acts and audiences from around the world.  New venues and new shows boosted ticket sales and although rain dampened the opening parade, artists and audiences alike made up for it at the closing street parade. Renowned for ‘fresh ideas, risk, imagination, spontaneity and fun, the Adelaide Fringe Festival is the largest arts event in Australia and only rivaled by the Edinburgh Fringe on a worldwide scale’.

‘We understand the value of this festival to the city of Adelaide. As such, we proudly support this annual event’ said Managing Director, Leko Novakovic.

It was delivered through a combination of theory and practical based exercises in a way that made it educational and inspirational for both our junior and senior audio technicians. We are looking forward to future training opportunities with L-Acoustics” James Sacca – Head of Audio Department.

Novatech’s 2010 Winter Newsletter

By .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) on September 28, 2010

The 2010 Winter has been red hot at Novatech!  Our crew has been criss crossing the country on product road shows, concerts, community events and political functions.

Mitsubishi ASX National Roadshow
Always at the technological forefront, Mitsubishi together with Kojo Events kept the bar high this year with a great looking road show.  Novatech was engaged to provide the Sound, Lights and Vision for the Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane shows. The slick show toured the country at rapid pace with two complete tailor made systems allowing our operatorss to cover back to back shows, city to city, with minimal stress.  Utilising our new Barco FLM HD20 projectors and 44ft Stumpfl Monoblok screen, Novatech constructed one of our biggest image blends to date.  We look forward to seeing what great designs the Mitsubishi and Kojo team come up with next year.

Novatech and Australian Netball
Novatech was proud to provide the on court audio for the ANZ Championship Grand Final match at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena. The Adelaide Thunderbirds proved too good for the First Windows Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic winning the 2010 ANZ Championship Grand Final 52-42 before an official crowd of 9,300.  Novatech provided 4 clusters of our Kudo line array speakers to make sure the announcements and music was clear and audible in every inch of the arena.  We like to think that our small contribution helped to hype up the crowd which in turn help the girls to a dominating win.
